Joseph Aoun, President of Lebanon, in a message on the occasion of Army Day, announced that no force other than the army—which represents all Lebanese people in every region and of every religion and affiliation—can protect this country. He added: “No weapon outside the framework of the legitimate state has legitimacy, and only the army is responsible for defending the country.”
