Jordan’s Armed Forces announced that its air defense early Wednesday morning countered five missiles fired from Iran toward the territory of this kingdom. Based on the statement, all the missiles were tracked and shot down.
The announcement was made after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that its aerospace force targeted a U.S. air base and the central command and control center in Jordan with several ballistic missiles.
U.S. Central Command also said that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces fired these missiles from Iran in an attempt to carry out a surprise attack on American forces. In a statement from the Command, it said all the missiles were successfully intercepted and that American forces are in full readiness.
