🔶Jerusalem Post: Israel on high alert after warning about a land or sea attack by the Houthis

The Jerusalem Post, citing assessments by Israeli defense officials, reported that, amid increased clashes between Yemen’s Houthis and Saudi Arabia, Israel’s security institutions have placed themselves on the highest level of readiness in anticipation of the possibility of a surprise land or sea attack by the group.

As the newspaper wrote, in recent months the Houthis have increasingly issued warnings about carrying out ground attacks, including against Israeli territory, and over the past two years they have also published multiple videos of exercises simulating raids on military outposts and observation towers.

According to the newspaper, given the unpredictability of the Houthis’ actions, the Israeli army has begun extensive preventive measures. These include planning to establish a “fire coordination center” in the Edom division, deploying reserve forces and rapid-reaction units in the coastal area of Eilat, improving coordination among different units, and holding joint drills with police and border-guard forces.
