🔻 Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s envoy, the U.S. president, said on Monday that talks between Iran and the United States are serious and extensive, but that they have not yet reached an agreement.

Kushner, who is also the son-in-law of Donald Trump, said in an interview with Fox News that talks between the United States and various Iranian government bodies are likely stronger than ever, but that the two sides have not yet reached an agreement.

Earlier, Donald Trump, in response to reporters at the White House, had said that he is not looking to extend the interim agreement with Iran.

The agreement has effectively fallen apart because it did not lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

In his latest remarks, Trump said he believes Tehran will not accept a deal that he considers necessary. 📸 Getty Images
