Jalal Maleki, spokesperson of the Tehran Fire Department, reported an explosion of a tanker in a workshop at the beginning of Firoozbahram Road, within the area of the Azadgaran Freeway, and said that one 21-year-old worker was killed and two others were injured in the explosion.

Maleki said that although the tanker apparently was empty, the remaining material on the bottom of it could have turned into vapor, and the workers were carrying out thermal operations, including welding and grinding, on the tanker when the explosion suddenly occurred and the tanker caught fire.

He said: A couple of small cabins with an area of about 6 square meters were located a few meters away from the tanker as well, and they also caught fire as a result of this explosion.
