Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said the army of his country will not withdraw from the security zone created in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed throughout Lebanon and the threat against residents of northern Israel is eliminated. Katz wrote on the social media platform X on Tuesday, 28 Mehr, that any firing or drone attack on Israeli cities and residential areas would be answered with a severe strike on the Dahyeh area in southern Beirut. He also warned that if Hezbollah joins the Islamic Republic’s attack on Israel, it will be dealt a severe blow, and the Israeli army is ready to advance and seize more areas in Nebatot and around the Litani River in southern Lebanon. According to Katz, residents of the areas that are captured will be evacuated and these areas will be permanently added to Israel’s security zone in Lebanon.
