🔶 Israel: Two Hamas commanders, including an alleged 7 October attack operative, were killed

The Israeli army announced that one of the commanders of the Hamas group who participated in the 7 October 2023 attack on the kibbutz “Nir Oz” was killed in the assault on Saturday, 10 Mordad (1 August), in southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army identified the commander as Salim Jamal Abdulrahman Abulbed and said he was the commander of a unit of the “elite” forces of Hamas. The Israeli army also says he entered Nir Oz during the 7 October attack.

In a separate incident on Friday in central Gaza, Mohammad Abd al-Nasser Mohammad Khatib was also killed. The Israeli army identified him as one of the commanders of the “Al-Maghazi” battalion of Hamas.

Israel, despite the ceasefire, justified these attacks on the grounds that both men were planning attacks against Israeli forces.

The Israeli army also said that the individuals were killed in “precise and targeted airstrikes to remove a threat.”

Officials of the Gaza Health Ministry, which is affiliated with Hamas, also confirmed that at least two people were killed in the attacks on Saturday.
