Ismail Baqai, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, said: «At present, we have no negotiations with the United States, and the ongoing talks are only with Oman and with the focus on reaching an agreement regarding the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.»
Baqai added that Tehran and Muscat are trying, through consultation with one another, to determine a temporary route to ensure the safety of shipping in this waterway, and emphasized that as long as «maritime blockade and the violation of commitments by the United States» continue, no change will be made to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
