🔻 Ismail Baghaii, spokesperson of the U.S. State Department, says a face-to-face discussion took place between Abbas Araghchi and Iranian diplomats with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on Tuesday, and that the matter was handled through a Qatari mediator, with Iran’s conditions communicated.

In the early hours of Wednesday, Mr. Baghaii said: “This interaction took place with the aim of conveying Iran’s conditions, including an end to the war on all fronts, a stop to the United States’ aggressive actions, a maritime blockade and economic war, the release of Iran’s assets, and…”

On Tuesday evening, Donald Trump, the U.S. president, had announced the meeting between Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner with mediators and representatives of Iran and called it positive.
