🔺 Iraqi President: We are negotiating with the Islamic Republic over the Strait of Hormuz
▪ Nizar Amedi, Iraq’s president, said that Baghdad continues to negotiate with the Islamic Republic over what he called “complex issues” in the Strait of Hormuz.
▪ He said on Saturday, on the second day of the eighth Baghdad Dialogue conference, that the strait “affects not only Iraq, but the whole world.” Amedi added that the passage of several ships carrying Iraqi oil through the Strait of Hormuz is facilitated.
▪ His remarks were made at the same time as a report by IRNA, which said that the Islamic Republic, after repeated requests from Baghdad, has issued permission for a number of Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
