Iraqi Kurdistan Prime Minister, on Wednesday, the 8th of Mehr, referring to the end of the mission of the international coalition led by the United States against ISIS in Iraq, announced that this does not mean the end of relations between Baghdad and Washington and that relations between the two sides and the coalition member countries will continue in a different framework.
Masrour Barzani said: These relations will continue in the economic, cultural, political, security and military fields, and Iraqi Kurdistan, as an active and influential part of the Iraqi government, will participate in developing these cooperation.
He also thanked the United States and the coalition member countries for their role in confronting ISIS and for helping strengthen the capabilities of the Peshmerga forces and protecting Kurdistan and Iraq, and called this mission “sacred.”
Referring to the continued threat of terrorism, the Kurdistan Prime Minister noted that security challenges still exist, but the capabilities of Iraqi forces have increased compared to the past.
According to Barzani, the Peshmerga forces are ready to counter any attack or threat against Iraqi Kurdistan.
