Iraq’s prime minister discussed coordination in regional security developments with the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Intelligence Directorate on Friday.
Based on a statement by the prime minister’s office, Ali Falah al-Zaidi, in the meeting, told Khalid al-Humaidan that Iraq would not allow its territory to be used to attack or carry out activities against any other country.
The “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” network said on Friday, following this meeting, that it had postponed its planned response to attacks by Saudi Arabia.
According to the network’s announcement, the postponement was made at the request of Hadi al-Ameri, one of the most powerful figures aligned with the Islamic Republic in Iraq, and the positions of several political leaders whose names were not announced.
