Iraq’s oil minister says the country’s daily oil exports have exceeded three million barrels. Basim Muhammad noted that last month Iraq had 70 million barrels of oil exports (2.33 million barrels per day) and that, in the current month, it has gone above three million barrels.

Before the Middle East war and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Iraq exported 3.2 million barrels of oil per day.

In addition to the Strait of Hormuz, Iraq is now sending part of its oil from the land route to the Syrian port of Baniyas, and some is also exported via a pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.

Basim Muhammad said that the transfer of oil from southern regions via the land route to the Kirkuk oilfield area has accelerated, and that exports via the pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan will reach 600,000 barrels per day.

Previously, this figure was about 200,000 barrels and included only oil produced in the Kurdistan region.
