🔻Iranian students returned to classes after months of school closures due to war

More than 16 million Iranian students returned to classrooms today, on Mehr 1, after months of school closures in the wake of the war, and completed the first day of the new academic year.

On the first day of the war, which began on the ninth of Esfand with simultaneous attacks by the United States and Israel, a school in Minab in Hormozgan province was targeted, in which 178 people—mostly children—were killed.

After the outbreak of the war, classes were suspended.

In Minab, Hossein Afsheen, the scientific and technological deputy of Iran’s president, today rang the bell at one of the primary schools to announce the start of the new academic year.

This year, ceremonies were also held two days earlier on the occasion of the new academic year, with the participation of Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran’s president, before he traveled to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
