Iranian media reported that the body of Majid Kazemi, one of the Sukhoi 24 fighter pilots that had been shot down during the recent war, was transferred to Iran after about five months and was laid to rest in a ceremony.

According to these media outlets, his identity has been confirmed through a DNA test.

Based on these reports, efforts to determine the status of the other three pilots are still ongoing.

On 11 Esfand, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense had announced that the country’s armed forces had shot down two Sukhoi 24 fighter jets of the Islamic Republic. At the time, the Islamic Republic did not confirm the report.

Habibollah Sayyari, commander of the staff and deputy coordinator of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces, said in Khordad that there was no information available about the fate of the pilots of the two Sukhoi 24 fighter jets that had been dispatched during the recent war to attack Qatar.
