🔸Iranian media reported on Monday, 27 Mehr, that Asim Munir, the commander of the Pakistan Army, is expected to travel to Tehran on Tuesday to meet with senior Iranian officials.

🔸The news was first published by Tasnim News Agency, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and then by ISNA, a semi-official news agency. Iranian and Pakistani officials have not yet provided official information about it.

🔸The media reported that Mr. Munir is expected to discuss with officials of the Islamic Republic “bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and negotiations between Iran and the United States.”

🔸The trip comes as, at the beginning of the week, reports were published about the closure of the land border between Iran and Pakistan and the suspension of commercial exchanges between the two countries. Iran’s Foreign Ministry described the development as “temporary.”

🔸After Pakistan established a ceasefire that ended the 40-day war, it was the main mediator in Washington and Tehran’s talks aimed at reaching an end-of-war agreement.
