🔶 Iran will go to the 2027 Oscars with the Arabic-language film “Land of Angels”

The Fajr Film Foundation announced that the film “Land of Angels,” directed by Babak Khaje-Pasha and produced by Manoochehr Mohammadi, has been selected as the representative of Iranian cinema for the 99th edition of the Academy Awards.

The film is made in Arabic and depicts a story of war and crisis in Gaza from the perspective of the life of a teacher and children.

Salaf Fawajri, a Syrian actor, plays the lead role in the film, and a number of child actors from among the Arab, Iranian, Syrian, and Lebanese communities are also featured.

The film is a co-production of the Imagshehr Institute and the Surah Cinema Organization.

Iraj Tahmasb, Farhad Touhidi, Mahmoud Koliari, Alireza Hosseini, and Mohammadreza Tashkiri were among the members present at the meeting of the selection committee for Iran’s representative to the Oscars.

“Land of Angels” previously received the Grand Prize for Best Film at the International Kazan Film Festival in Russia, and Salaf Fawajri also won the Best Female Actor award for her performance in it.
