🔻Iran: Temporary sea routes in the Strait of Hormuz will be discussed at the Oman meeting
🔻Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says that one of the topics of the upcoming meeting in Oman will be temporary sea routes for passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
He made these remarks at a press conference in the city of Larestan in southern Iran.
The Iranian foreign ministry had previously announced that Iran would take part on Sunday, 22 Shahrivar/13 September, in a meeting with Arab Gulf countries in Oman—an event expected to discuss the future of the Strait of Hormuz.
However, an Iranian senior official who asked not to be named told Reuters on Saturday that the likelihood of achieving significant progress at the meeting is low. According to him, the meeting is being held at Oman’s initiative and aims to discuss issues including the Strait of Hormuz, but it is not expected to result in the signing of an agreement.
