🔶 2026 Freedom Prize from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation to the people of Iran

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom announced on Monday, 23 Shahrivar (14 September), that its 2026 Freedom Prize—which is awarded to “the brave people of Iran who fight for freedom, citizens’ rights, and democracy”—will be presented on 7 November of this year (2026) at the “Paulskirche” Church in Frankfurt. Reza Pahlavi, one of the leaders of the Iranian opposition, will receive the prize on behalf of the people of Iran, as a representative.

Beiyjan Geirsery, the spokesperson for the foreign policy of Germany’s Free Democratic Party (FDP), will also deliver a speech at the ceremony.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation, which is close to Germany’s so-called “Free Democrats” liberal party (FDP), since 2006 has honored outstanding achievements and activities by awarding the Freedom Prize every two years. It does so in a way that creates decisive drivers for the development of a liberal civil society and thereby helps to reinforce the values and freedom-loving goals in the world.
