🔻 Iran’s judiciary announced that Mohammad-Baqer Khazaei, the secretary-general of Hezbollah Iran, has been placed under criminal pursuit due to his recent remarks against some officials of the Islamic Republic, and was summoned today to the Special Clergy Court. The judiciary’s spokesperson said that, given that Mr. Khazaei is a cleric, the handling of his charges falls within the jurisdiction of the Special Clergy Court. He added: «The charges will be announced after the charges are formally presented, but from a legal point of view, he could face multiple security-related charges.»

Khazaei had claimed that if Masoud Pezeshkian resigns again, the secretary-general of Hezbollah Iran would accept it. He also said that Mohammad-Baqer Zaolqadr will be removed from his position on the Supreme National Security Council, and that Mohsen Rezaei will take his place, and that Abbas Araqchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has been told that he will no longer be allowed to intervene in the negotiations.

The office of the President of Iran called his remarks about Masoud Pezeshkian’s resignation «baseless and outright lies,» and the office of the Leader of the Islamic Republic also denied the attributed quote concerning Mojtaba Khamenei. However, after this denial, Mohammad-Baqer Khazaei did not fully back down from his claim.
