The Popular Mobilization Units units, Iran-backed militias in Iraq, are being newly designated with numbers and official titles, and the new names will have no political or religious titles.

Based on reports by Arab media, the Iraqi government has received a significant portion of various types of weapons, and the total number of recorded weapons so far has reached 580,000 units.

Saraya al-Salam is the only group that has disbanded its units within the Popular Mobilization Units and has started handing over its weapons. Asaib Ahl al-Haq and Kataib Imam Ali have promised to do the same.

Kataib Hezbollah Iraq, however, said in Khordad that it supports handing over weapons to the government and, at the same time, announced that it is ready to receive specialized weapons such as drones and missiles and even pay their price; a position that shows the group does not intend to disarm.
