The International Energy Agency will hold a meeting next week to determine the details of the release of diesel reserves, as market uncertainty about the volume and location of the release continues to mount.

According to Reuters, citing two informed individuals, the agency’s board is scheduled to decide at a meeting on 22 and 23 Mehr.

On Friday, the G7 countries agreed under pressure from Donald Trump, the U.S. president, to release 100 million barrels of diesel fuel and crude oil from emergency reserves, but they did not announce the breakdown of volumes or the names of the participating countries.

Russell Hardy, CEO of Vitol, said in London on Tuesday: “The statement was not fully transparent about exactly what and where will be released.”
