The anti-Iranian regime of the Islamic Republic, in Mordad 1397 (August 2018), and in continuation of its treasonous policies and geopolitical payoffs, signed the disgraceful Caspian Sea convention secretly and behind closed doors with four other countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Azerbaijan). According to the disclosures of independent experts and analysts, based on this colonial deal, Iran’s share in the historical common property of the Caspian Sea has fallen to landfilling and a catastrophic figure of 13 percent.

Now, too, this usurping, puppet government is trying to push this treacherous agreement through for final approval in its submissive, ceremonial parliament.

Is Iran’s historical rights, national wealth, and vital interests in the Caspian Sea supposed to be sacrificed for the survival of this corrupt regime? How can one of the most vital issues of the country’s territorial integrity be decided in dark rooms, at the command of Kremlin masters, yet the true owners of this land and people—namely the Iranian people—be completely unfamiliar with it and kept uninformed?

This is an open act of selling out the homeland; they are trading this land, the sea, and the rights of future generations in order to preserve the power of a criminal sect.

The national resources, the energy reserves of the seabed, and Iran’s sovereign rights in the Caspian Sea belong to every single Iranian nation member and the generations of tomorrow. This usurping regime has no legitimacy from the Iranian people. Any transfer, signature, or decision behind closed doors regarding the land and waters of this country is, in our view, null and void, invalid, and an obvious international theft that, after the overthrow of this government, will be sent to the trash heap of history.
