In pictures: A week of Russian jet drone terror in Kyiv

Russian drones have filled the skies over Kyiv, striking at the city around the clock, making it feel increasingly like there is nowhere safe to hide. Using newer jet-powered versions of Shahed-type drones that tear through the sky at speeds of up to 600 km/h, Russian forces have launched strikes almost nonstop.

The air raid alert in Kyiv on Sept. 30 lasted 12 hours and 44 minutes — one of the longest single alerts the city has ever recorded. As strikes hit data centers, medical facilities, and energy infrastructure, Kyiv continues to push through under an endless barrage, bracing for another difficult winter.
