🔸In continuation of reactions to the holding of two women’s marathons in the capital, the Tehran Seminary called for “judicial and deterrent action” against those involved in organizing this event.

🔸The Tehran Seminary, on Sunday, 20 Shahrivar, in a statement, described the two Tehran marathons as contrary to “religious and legal principles” and criticized holding them at the same time as the government rally “People, My Life for Iran.”

🔸The 10-kilometer race in Tehran on Friday, 27 Shahrivar, was held at “Velayat Park” with a wide turnout of women. In the published images, women could be seen with diverse and optional attire. At the same time as this event, the government rally “People, My Life for Iran” was being held on Tehran streets.

🔸One day after this competition was held, Tehran’s prosecutor’s office announced a case against the organizers and those involved in holding the event and opened a judicial file.

🔸Ali Zeyni-Vand, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, also said at a press conference on Saturday that this race should not have been held at the same time as the “Janfada exercise.”

🔸Habib Setudeh-Nejad, the general director of sports and youth of Tehran Province, also said on Saturday about holding a “damage assessment meeting” for organizing this sports event with “relevant officials.”
