In an interview with Hassan Hashemian, we discussed the expansion of Saudi Arabia’s role in Iraq and regional competition with the Islamic Republic. Hashemian says that what gives Saudi Arabia power in Iraq today are macroeconomic and political variables that even some parts of the framework of coordination among Shiites have begun to align with.
