🔸Impact of Iran war; Shell profit reached the second-highest level in its history

Shell’s oil company revenues in the latest three-month period reached the second-highest level in the company’s history, as the war between the United States and Iran pushed up global oil prices.

According to a statement released on Thursday (July 30), its profit in the three months ending June totaled $9.8 billion, more than double compared with $4.3 billion in the same period of 2025. In the first half of the year, the British energy giant recorded a 70% increase in profit compared with the previous year.

Brent crude oil prices, as the global benchmark for oil prices, have risen by nearly one-third since the war began on February 28.

On Thursday, shortly before 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), Brent oil prices rose by 1.4% and the U.S. oil benchmark (WTI) by 0.6%. This jump came after the United States launched a heavy wave of attacks against Iran— the first attacks, after several days, directly targeting this country’s soil.
