🔶 Hurricanes heading toward the coasts of the United States and Mexico; evacuation of coastal areas in two U.S. states
Several U.S. states have declared a state of emergency and have warned about flooding, rising sea levels, and heavy rainfall. Authorities have issued orders to evacuate high-risk coastal areas in parts of Florida and Alabama. At the same time, Mexico is also preparing to deal with two other tropical hurricanes.
The tropical storm “Isaías,” moving over the Gulf of Mexico toward the coasts of southern the United States, has intensified and is expected to reach the shore on Friday evening, October 9, or early Saturday. The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Thursday that the storm’s wind speeds have reached about 160 kilometers per hour—placing it in the second category of the five hurricane categories.
