Humanoid robots on Monday, September 2, began competing for the first time in the weightlifting event at the World Humanoid Robot Games being held at the Beijing National Speed Skating Stadium.
Four robots in the heavyweight category started their work by lifting a 15-kilogram barbell. In one attempt, a robot lost its balance and fell toward the judges’ table. After that, officials immediately stopped the competition and declared the move to be over.
Cheerleading and opening a bottle’s cap were also held on Monday. The second edition of these Games includes 51 events, including 30 sports competitions and 21 scenario-based contests, and will continue until Wednesday, September 4
