🔸Houthis: The attack on Egypt’s Damietta port was not our doing

The Houthi rebels in Yemen said on Thursday, July 30 (August 8) that the drone attack from the previous day that targeted a U.S.-owned gas storage vessel at Egypt’s Damietta port was not their work.

According to Saba news agency (affiliated with the Houthis), one of the officials from the group’s foreign affairs office said: “Rumors that claim Yemen targeted a ship in Damietta port in the Arab Republic of Egypt are completely baseless.”

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and there have been no reports of injuries or deaths.

Meanwhile, CNN, citing a regional expert, wrote that the drone attack on Egypt’s port on Wednesday may have been a warning from Iran that the conflict between that country and the United States could expand far beyond the current battlefield.
