🔶"Houthi Drone Attack on Medina Power Facilities"
The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia in its response to the Houthis, known as the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, announced that the Houthis on Tuesday morning, September 29 (7 Mehr), attacked the Taybah power distribution station in Medina with a drone.
Turki Al-Maliki, the coalition spokesman, said investigations carried out indicate that Houthi militias planned and carried out this “cowardly terrorist act.” According to him, responsible officials conducted an operational review and studied the remains of the drone to determine the origin of the attack.
Al-Maliki said the attack caused one of the transformers to be taken offline, but did not disrupt the overall operation of the power grid.
He added that the target of the attack was a “civilian power facility supplying electricity to the Mosque of the Prophet’s Mosque services in Medina,” and that the attack is considered part of the Houthis’ ongoing pattern of attempts to target two of Islam’s holy mosques—the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
