Hossein Samasami, a member of the Majlis Economic Commission, told ILNA: “Our economy has not yet been affected by the exchange rate of 180,000 tomans that we have had over the past one or two months, and we should expect an even more severe inflationary wave as well, and this disaster is taking shape in our economy.”
This member of parliament added: “The arrangement between the exporter and the importer and allowing this difference is, in reality, tantamount to allowing smuggled dollars.”
Samasami added: “Given that the Central Bank has allowed the exporter and importer to reach an agreement with each other, therefore the rate of 204 to 205 will end up on the people’s tables, and then this rate goes higher and this inflation becomes permanent on the people’s tables.”
