Hiwa Sefi Zadeh, an Iranian female singer, reported on the latest status of her case in the judiciary system of the Islamic Republic by posting a video on Instagram, and said: “Which specific behavior of mine constitutes encouragement to corruption and prostitution? Basically, how could reciting Saadi’s poetry or performing Iranian vocals be considered an example of encouragement to corruption and prostitution?”

Sefi Zadeh was detained on Thursday evening, 9 Esfand 1403, during a performance at “Amarat Roo-be-Roo” in Tehran, when security forces raided the venue. Previously, her lawyer, Saeid Nematı Amareh, had said that Sefi Zadeh and a number of members of her group were arrested on charges of holding a “concert without a permit” and a female solo performance in the presence of men.
