Hans Grundberg, the UN special envoy for Yemen, said on Friday 16 Mordad that the risk of a renewed large-scale conflict in Yemen is now higher than at any time since the UN-mediated ceasefire in April 2022.
Grundberg said that recent Houthi attacks in Marib and Hadramout, which according to reports have left significant casualties, including among civilians, along with the resumption of attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, have increased the risk of escalation of the conflict.
