Germany’s interior minister, after the discovery of a drone carrying explosive materials at Leipzig Airport in eastern Germany, said this country is targeted every day by hybrid-warfare attacks from abroad.
Alexander Dobrind, in an interview with Bild am Sonntag, added: “We are not at war, but every day we are the target of hybrid warfare. Espionage, sabotage, cyberattacks, or covert operations by foreign powers with the aim of destabilizing Germany or causing direct harm—these are an ever-present reality.”
After the discovery of the drone carrying explosive materials at Leipzig Airport, a number of members of Germany’s parliament pointed the finger at Russia.
The Russian Embassy in Berlin on Friday called the incident a “provocation manufactured on purpose” and said it was another example of accusations against Russia without evidence.
