🔻Germany’s Cycling Federation has officially submitted its request to host the Tour de France 2029.

🔹Under this proposal, the world’s premier cycling event is set to start in the city 40 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and then pass through central and eastern regions of Germany.

🔹Elisabeth Kaiser, the official responsible for eastern states in the German government, said that “now is the time to speak with more confidence about the achievements of the people of Germany’s eastern states.”

🔹She added that the Tour de France could convey this message at the international level.

🔹The final decision on the host cities and the stages’ route is expected to be made in the first quarter of next year.
