Fuel shortages that returned in August have come back to some regions of Russia, and local officials in at least 10 provinces have made it again more difficult to control fuel sales at gas stations.

Reuters reporters reported on Monday that gasoline is again not available at some stations in Moscow Oblast, although diesel fuel is available at almost all stations.

Accordingly, it has been announced that fuel stations in at least 12 Russian provinces are again reporting several-hour lines.

Based on a report by the Insider news website, at least six provinces, between August 19 and August 24, have again reinstated or intensified fuel sales restrictions.

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, has acknowledged the shortages and said these shortages are “non-critical” and “temporary.”

Russia’s fuel crisis began last summer following drone attacks by Ukraine on refineries.
