🔸French President Emmanuel Macron, stressing the need to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, while also saying, “This is not something I consider feasible—trying to bring about regime change by bombing a country.”

🔸In an interview with the US network ABC broadcast in the early hours of Wednesday, September 1 in Iran’s time, he said about the war with Iran: “Ensuring that Iran does not get nuclear weapons is important for all of us and it is my main goal, but regime change through bombing is not a good option in my view. Because it doesn’t work, and we have made this mistake several times in the past decades.”

🔸Macron, confirming that France did not join the United States in the war against Iran, said: “That is correct—we weren’t there; not because we were not with the Americans. We respect the Americans, and I think we are good allies to one another. But when you want to involve others, you must consult them about your strategy and ask for their views before starting the war.”

🔸According to Macron, France decided not to join the war because “we reached the conclusion that this was not the right option.”
