🔶 France said it will summon Iran’s ambassador in Paris

France, in reaction to the closure of a French language training center affiliated with its embassy in Tehran, announced that it would summon the ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Paris and take the necessary measures.

Pascal Connefero, the spokesperson of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement on Sunday, September 20 (29 Shahrivar): “This new attack on the cultural presence of France in Iran, which follows the assault on two employees of the French embassy in July, is unjustifiable and unacceptable.”

Paris and Tehran’s relations have been tense for years due to the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program and the detention of several French citizens in Iran.

The French language training center in Tehran, known by the acronym CLF, was sealed on Sunday, 29 Shahrivar by the judiciary on charges of “activities and actions that are unlawful and outside the diplomatic norms of France.”
