Flight 901 of Alaska Airlines’ “Alas Cherekanas” exploded in the sky only 10 minutes after taking off from “Francis Field,” and its wreckage was scattered across the slopes of Mount Santa Rita. No one survived.

After more than three decades of ambiguity and unanswered questions, the likelihood of uncovering the truth in this case now seems greater than ever.

Following the extradition of a suspect from Venezuela whom Israel links to Hezbollah, Panama’s prosecution is investigating this incident as an “act with the characteristics of conventional terrorism.”

If this theory is confirmed, the incident would become the deadliest attack of this type in Panama’s history.
