Fatemeh Moghajerani, the government spokesperson, said that a citizen had told her, “May you die,” because she supported Mohammad Javad Zarif, the former foreign minister of the Islamic Republic.

Moghajerani, who had previously called Zarif a “servant of the system,” said in this program that she does not consider Hamid Rasaei a “servant of the system.” She added: “I believe understanding the national interests of the country is an important issue. Every faction when it says things that others—who are also our enemies—say, should have our questions about them made a bit bigger.”

Hamid Rasaei, a member of parliament, had previously suggested that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, be targeted with a missile during the NATO summit in Turkey.
