‌🔻Fatemeh Moghajarani, the government spokesperson, said that Masoud Pezeshkian’s meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei is “not only a response to a fabrication, but another sign of the continuation of the same relationship based on interaction, trust and support.”

Mrs. Moghajarani’s remarks referred to the denial of statements claiming the president’s resignation and Mojtaba Khamenei’s reaction. But later, both Mr. Pezeshkian and the website of Ayatollah Khamenei called those remarks false and a rumor.

At the same time, the news of the seven-hour meeting between the head of government and the leader of the Islamic Republic was released while factions in Iran have strongly criticized the performance of Mr. Pezeshkian’s government during the war and negotiations.

The government spokesperson also said that “the explicit support of the Leader of the Revolution for the president and the government has also been stated in various periods.”

Mrs. Moghajarani said, “In the political atmosphere of the country, we should distinguish between constructive criticism and actions that, in practice, move in the direction of creating an atmosphere of distrust and polarizing the society.” 📷LightRocket via Getty
