Eyal Eshel, the father of Ronie Eshel, an Israeli army lookout who was killed in the Oct. 7 attack at the Nahal Oz base, told the radio network “Kan Reshet Bet” that, based on the testimony of people present on site, there were individuals at this base on the day of the attack who spoke Persian. Eshel said: “On Oct. 7, terrorists were present at the Nahal Oz base who spoke Persian and shouted at each other.” He added that this information was based on the testimony of people who were either present at the site that day or served at the base. Eshel emphasized that the information had not been obtained from the Israel Defense Forces, and added that families themselves are currently collecting information about what happened that day. He also said that, from the presence of Persian-speaking individuals, he gets the impression that information about Israel had been gathered before the Oct. 7 attack, and added that now, compared with the first weeks and months after the attack, there is far more information available about what happened that day.
