Explosions were heard in the western city of Lviv at 4:40 a.m. local time, Suspilne reported, amid a massive Russian missile and drone attack targeting various regions of Ukraine overnight.

Earlier in the night, Poland's Air Force said it scrambled fighter jets to protect Polish airspace in response to the Russian attack.
