🔶 The European Union allocates €710 million in financial aid for emergency assistance worldwide

The European Union is allocating €710 million to help people around the world affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and other crises. On Saturday, September 26, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, said in a video message to the United Nations General Assembly that much of this funding would be earmarked for countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with the aim of providing particular support to refugees and the communities hosting them.

According to the European Union’s announcement, about €380 million of this budget will be allocated for migration-related measures in sub-Saharan Africa, including support for migrants and their voluntary return and reintegration into society. €252 million has been set aside for emergency assistance following conflicts, displacement, the outbreak of contagious diseases, and natural disasters.
