🔺Erdogan: Turkey’s priority is reopening the Strait of Hormuz

▪The president of Turkey says the Islamic Republic’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz has had no impact on Turkey’s energy security, but Ankara’s priority is to reopen the waterway.

▪Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in an interview with Al Jazeera, said that the long-term blockade of the Strait of Hormuz brings no benefits to anyone and is a serious threat to international trade.

▪He stressed the need for the immediate reopening of this waterway and the flow of oil from Middle Eastern countries to global markets.

▪Erdogan also, referring to the joint security agreement of his country with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, known as the Mecca Agreement, said that Egypt’s entry into this collective agreement may be possible. He called this agreement “an important message to the international community and in service of regional security.”
