Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of the National Security Commission of the Parliament, said in an interview with IRIB that, based on the “Strait of Hormuz Security” bill, the management, supervision and inspection of the strait “would be in the hands of the Islamic Republic and under the command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces,” and the entry of Israeli vessels would be prohibited as “for espionage or hostile purposes.”

Rezaei said: “Based on this bill, the General Staff of the Armed Forces will set the regulations for receiving tolls and fees for services from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and the mechanism for paying the tolls in rials has also been reviewed.”

The member of the National Security Commission of the Parliament added: “In the event that the Islamic Republic’s interests are harmed anywhere in the world, this bill provides for the possibility of increasing tariffs or seizing the property of a hostile state in the Strait of Hormuz.”
