Donald Trump said South Korea rejected the United States’ request to take part in military operations against the Islamic Republic. He, while criticizing the decision, asked why Washington should spend billions of dollars to defend South Korea against North Korea, but Seoul would not be willing to support the United States in a military operation against the Islamic Republic.
Trump also said this criticism is not only directed at South Korea, and that some of the United States’ other allies, including NATO member countries, are also unwilling to participate in protecting the Strait of Hormuz; while much of the energy they need is supplied through this waterway.
