🔶 Drone attack on an oil tanker while leaving the Strait of Hormuz

The British Maritime Trade Operations Center (UKMTO) announced on Friday, 14 August (23 Mordad), that an oil tanker, while exiting the Strait of Hormuz, was targeted by a drone attack and suffered minor damage.

According to the center, all crew members of the aforementioned tanker are safe, and no environmental damage has been reported as a result of the drone attack.

The UKMTO report about the incident was published today, Friday, but it is said that the attack occurred on Thursday, 13 August (22 Mordad) at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time.

In its report, the center did not mention details about the name of the damaged tanker or the perpetrator of the drone attack. The UKMTO has asked ships to move with caution and to report suspicious activities to this agency.
