Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said on Monday evening at a rally in Michigan, that the United States is holding very friendly talks with Iran.

He said: “You can’t satisfy them with bribes or concessions. You have to defeat them and we will defeat them thoroughly as well. But we have to see what happens in the end. Right now, very friendly negotiations are underway.”

This comes as the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson earlier on Monday, in a meeting with reporters, had denied that any negotiations between Iran and the United States were taking place.

Before going to Michigan, Mr. Trump had said that at the request of the intermediary countries and other countries, he had halted attacks on Iran to give the negotiations more time.
